RETURNS AND GUARANTEES
This Return Policy sets out the conditions under which customers may withdraw from a purchase contract or return goods purchased through the online store at www.hanzoblades.com (the “Online Store”). It is intended to ensure transparency, to clarify the mutual rights and obligations of customers and the seller, and to align with applicable consumer protection laws within the European Union.
The Policy applies to all consumer transactions carried out through the Online Store. By completing an order, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted this Return Policy as part of the contractual documentation.
1. Introductory Provisions
1.1.
This Return Policy (hereinafter “Policy”) governs the mutual rights and obligations of the seller and the customer in connection with the return of goods purchased through the online store operated at the website www.hanzoblades.com (hereinafter “Online Store”).
1.2.
The Policy has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of applicable legislation, in particular with Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and relevant provisions of national civil codes transposing the Directive into domestic law. Nothing in this Policy shall prejudice or limit the statutory rights of consumers arising directly from law.
1.3.
This Policy applies exclusively to purchases concluded through the Online Store with consumers acting outside the scope of their business activity. Where goods are purchased by legal entities or individuals acting in a business capacity, rights and obligations may be governed by contractual arrangements and not by consumer protection provisions.
1.4. The Policy forms an integral part of the terms under which goods are sold and is binding for both the seller and the customer at the moment of conclusion of the purchase contract.
2. Right of Withdrawal
2.1.
A consumer has the right to withdraw from the purchase contract without giving any reason within fourteen (14) days from the day on which the consumer, or a third party designated by the consumer other than the carrier, has taken possession of the goods.
2.2.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the consumer must provide a clear statement setting out the decision to withdraw. Notification can be made by electronic communication, by mail, or any other durable medium that allows proof of dispatch within the statutory time limit.
2.3.
The consumer must return the goods no later than fourteen (14) days after notifying the withdrawal. The deadline is deemed observed if the goods are handed over to a carrier before the expiry of the period.
2.4.
Goods returned under the right of withdrawal should be in a condition corresponding to normal handling — meaning the kind of inspection that would reasonably be allowed in a physical retail store. Any excessive use, wear, or damage may reduce the customer’s entitlements.
2.5.
Upon proper withdrawal, the purchase contract shall be deemed void ab initio, and the seller shall process the return in accordance with applicable legislation.
3. Returns for Defective Goods
3.1.
The customer is entitled to return goods that exhibit defects of material or workmanship. A defect is deemed present where the goods fail to comply with the characteristics or quality agreed in the purchase contract or where they fail to correspond to their ordinary purpose.
3.2.
In the case of a defective knife, the customer may request its assessment. Following inspection, the seller will either: Repair the product where possible, restoring its full functionality, or Replace the product with a new one of the same type, if repair is not feasible or would be disproportionate.
3.3.
This provision does not apply if the defect is the result of misuse, inappropriate handling, exposure to conditions inconsistent with maintenance guidelines, or intentional or negligent damage.
3.4.
A customer who believes that a knife has failed due to craftsmanship or material flaws should contact customer service for instructions and return the product securely packaged for evaluation.
4. Conditions of Returned Goods
4.1.
Returned products should be complete, including all parts, protective elements, and any accompanying documentation originally supplied with the goods.
4.2.
Products must be returned in packaging that prevents damage in transit. The customer bears responsibility for adequately securing the item during shipment.
4.3.
Any reduction in value of the returned product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and functionality of the goods may affect the customer’s rights.
5. Procedure and Communication
5.1.
To initiate a return, the customer should contact the Online Store via the contact details provided on the website. The seller will acknowledge receipt of the request and provide further instructions.
5.2.
The seller will assess the returned product promptly upon receipt. The customer will then be notified in writing (e.g., by email) of the outcome of the assessment and of the measures adopted.
5.3.
Communication concerning returns will be made in a durable form. Customers are advised to retain copies of correspondence for their records.
6. Exclusions
6.1.
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the cases defined by law, in particular to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized; to goods which, due to their nature, cannot be returned for hygienic or safety reasons once unsealed; to goods that have been irreversibly combined with other items after delivery.
6.2.
The rights under this Policy also do not extend to damage caused by negligence, improper use, non-compliance with care instructions, or unauthorized modification of the goods.
7. Final Provisions
7.1.
This Policy is intended to provide transparency and legal certainty to consumers and to ensure that the process of returning goods is predictable and fair.
7.2.
The current wording of this Policy is always published on the website of the Online Store. The seller reserves the right to amend or update this Policy where necessary, provided that such amendments shall not affect rights that have already arisen under the previous version.
7.3.
Customers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this Policy before making a purchase. By completing an order, the customer acknowledges having read and accepted this Return Policy as binding.
